10 Best Films by Village Voice critics + 1 ビレッジ・ボイス紙の選ぶ、年間ベスト１０ ＋　１

え〜、ＮＹの老舗タウン紙ビレッジ・ボイス紙の選んだ今年の年間ベスト１０（プラス、アメリカ映画評論家の大御所ロジャー＝エバートのベスト１０）です。今年はやはりＮＹタイムスと同じく、ボイス紙も批評家全員のベスト１０を挙げて来ましたね。
ちなみに、このベスト１０はＮＹで公開された映画から選ばれていますので、全米レベルでは公開されていないモノも多く含まれていますし、毎年めっちゃオタッキーなので、その点あらかじめご了承下さい。ｍ（＿）ｍ

各作品ごとに観て見ると、「マルホランド・ドライブ」と「花様年華」が圧倒的に強いですね〜。
一昨年のヴェネチア映画祭でグランプリを獲得したイラン映画「The Circle」や、「ロマンスX」の監督最新作で、今年のＮＹ映画祭でも上映された「Fat Girl」も強し。後は、ドキュメンタリー作品の「The Gleaner and I」など。
「シュレック」「ロード・オブ・ザ・リングス」などの大作映画がキレイさっぱり無視されているのにも注目してみたい所(^_^;)。

日本映画では、「ユリイカ」がかなり健闘しています。次点には「CURE」もけっこう入っていますよ。
ちなみに蔡明亮監督の「河」ですが、日本での公開は数年前に遡るものの、アメリカでは２００１年初公開となりました。

一度に４人の批評家が別々のベスト１０を発表した年なんて、これまで一度もなかったと思います。それだけ、各人の評が割れた年だったということなのでしょう。今年のオスカー予想は、ホントに混戦しそうだぁぁぁ…(^_^;)。

Magazines 雑誌の年間ベスト１０

昨年までは一つのベスト１０しか出さなかったタイム誌も、今年は票割れしたのか、それともいろいろな意見を紹介したかったのか、二人の意見を出して来ました。 シケル氏が２位に挙げている"Moulin Rouge"を、コリス氏はワースト映画に挙げていたりして、この辺り同じ雑誌でも意見が割れていて面白いです。

全体的に"In the Bedroom"と"Shrek"は強いですね〜。それを追っているのが、"The Load of the Rings"と"Moulin Rouge"って感じで…。
オスカー候補かと目されている"Gosford Park"が何処にも入っていないのは、まだ彼等が観ていないということなのでしょうか？（"A Beautiful Mind"は？"The Shipping News"は？？？）
下の批評家賞と同じく"In the Mood for Love"（花様年華）や"Amores Perros"が入って来ているのも面白いです。"Amores Perros"は、去年オスカーにノミネート済みだから、もうノミネートはされないと思うのですが…(^_^;)。

各作品について言うと、今年のカンヌ映画祭で話題になり、"Tokyo Filmex"にも特別招待された"Kandahar"は、これから一般公開。"Moulin Rouge"を抑えてオーストラリアのアカデミー賞を総なめした"Lantana"もランクインしていますね。
ワーストでは、"Tomb Rader"が圧倒的(^_^;)。実はけっこう観に行こうかな〜と思っていたので、行かなくて良かったのかな(^_^;)？？？

Boads and Critic Awards 全米批評家賞、NY & LA 批評家賞

う〜ん、作品賞にノミネートされそうな、"Gosford Park", "Ali", "A Beautiful Mind", "Iris", "The Shipping News", "Monster's Ball"などをまだ観ていないので、難しいですね〜(^_^;)。
今の時点でほぼ確実にノミネートに入って来て、オスカー獲得に一番近いのは、主演女優賞シシー＝スペイセク（In the Bedroom）と助演男優賞のジム＝ブロードベンド(Iris)でしょう。後は、本当に竹の子の背比べで全然分かりませんです(^_^;)。
今のところ、批評家賞で注目を集めている"In the Bedroom"は、長いしラストがいまイチだし、何しろ長編第一作目なので、俳優賞以外の賞に食い込んで来るのは難しいかも鴨。

外国語映画賞は、いまの所ミラマックスのイチ押し"Amelie"が入ってきそうですが、批評家評が悪いので、"No Man's Land"との一騎打ちか？批評家賞には選ばれた"In the Mood of Love"（花様年華）や、"Amoles Perros"は、もう去年の作品ということでオスカーの可能性は殆どないでしょう。

その他の賞について。脚本賞："Memento"は、最優秀に選ばれずともノミネートは確実。撮影賞："The Man Who Wasn't There"のノミネートも確実でしょう。美術賞：これも強敵が多いので最優秀は分かりませんが、"Moulin Rouge"のノミネートは確実。
今年から新設される長編アニメーション賞は、まさにディズニーと、その宿敵ドリームワークスの一騎打ちに。まぁ、"Shrek"が獲るのはほぼ確実だと思います。"Walking Life"がノミネート入りするかどうかにも注目。

まずは全米批評家賞の結果から。ただし、ＮＢＲの対象は、オスカー本命で年末ギリギリ公開になる映画が未見作品となっている場合が多いのと（例えば『アモーレス・ペレス』は、アカデミー賞では２０００年のカテゴリー）、最近では、映画の専門家というより、弁護士や先生や雑誌の編集関係者などが多いので、最終的なオスカー結果とは異なる場合が多いです。

注目作品としては、今年のサンダンス映画祭で審査員特別賞を受賞し、今年のモントリオール映画祭でも正式コンペに入賞した"In the Bedroom"でしょうか。批評家ウケもすこぶる良い作品の様ですね。
それと、これまであまり話題に上っていなかったのに、突然主演男優賞（ビリー＝ボブ＝ソーントン）＆女優賞（ハリー＝ベリー）のオスカー候補に浮上して話題の"Monster's Ball"にも大注目。
